The Carolina Reaper is the hottest chilli pepper in the world. These extremely hot chilli peppers are characterised by their beautiful red colour and wrinkled “skin”. The tip of this hot chilli pepper is called the “scorpion’s tail”, it is also reminiscent of the stinger of a wasp. Combine the Carolina Reaper pepper with tomato and other spices in a salsa, sauce or sambal and you have a spicy base for a delicious dish. But beware, these dishes are only suitable for people who like extreme spicy food.
Make sure to wear gloves when preparing the chilli pepper or wash your hands with soap afterwards to prevent irritation to your skin. Did you know that if you have eaten chilli peppers that are (too) hot, you can cool your mouth with yoghurt or milk?
Eminent Carolina Reaper peppers come from the Netherlands and are grown by our own growers.
