The Habanero pepper is a firm chilli pepper in the beautiful fresh colours red and yellow. Eminent Habanero peppers are grown from the unique variety of Eminent Seeds. Eminent Seeds have developed and improved this chilli pepper in house. Habanero peppers of this variety have a longer shelf life.
With a Scoville value of 100,000 to 350,000, these spicy chilli peppers are one of the hottest chilli peppers in the world. The Habanero pepper is best used in curries, stews or a spicy stir-fry. They also give a nice flavour to a vegan burger. However, it is recommended to use them in very small quantities.
Worldwide there are two well-known large pepper families, the Capsicum Annuum and the Capsicum Chinense. The Capsicum Chinense originates from Mexico, Suriname and the Caribbean Islands and is naturally much hotter. The best-known pepper from this family is the Habanero pepper, but also the Madame Jeanet, Trinidad Scorpion and the hottest chilli pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper.
