Marmande is an old French variety valued for its fine taste. The typical and authentic appearance gives the tomato its charm. The deep red, ribbed, flattened oval beef tomatoes are beautifully coloured. Due to the high sugar content, these beef tomatoes are much tastier than ordinary round tomatoes.
The Marmande tomato is not a hybrid variety, which means that you have less uniformity. Marmande tomatoes are delicious in salads or for making tomato soup or pasta sauce. Other delicious uses are stuffing, baking, grilling or stir-frying.
The Marmande tomato has a diameter of 6 to 10 cm and weigh 65 to 175 g.
The mini Marmande got its name because of its shape. This small cocktail tomato only reminds of the Marmande tomato in its appearance.
